I have just finished writing my Mid Year Freak Out Tag for 2018, and I realised that there were books on some of the lists that were also answers to questions from last years questions. Which got me thinking… Have I actually succeeded in completing some of my goals? Or have I ignored them completely?

So… I missed my 2-year blog anniversary… AGAIN. I posted my first ever book review on this blog on 9th June 2016 whilst I was in Berlin trying to get over a horrific break up. See my very first post here, and you can see last years mid-year tag here. 2 years later, and I have a successful book blog where I get to share my opinions on all things bookish, and to share my love of books with you all. Because it’s my 2-year anniversary, that also means that IT’S TIME FOR THE MID-YEAR FREAK OUT TAG!

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month the theme was ‘Rebels in Ballgowns’ and when the theme was announced last month, I had no idea what the book was going to be. That’s what I love about having the book subscription service – I just love being surprised!

I’ve been meaning to create a book inventory for a couple of years now. It was getting to the point where I had so many books that I didn’t know which ones I owned and which ones I WANTED to own. I would buy a book from Amazon/Waterstones, I would get home and find out that I already owned it. OR I WOULDN’T buy a book because I thought that I owned it, get home and find out that I didn’t actually own it. So yeah… a book inventory seemed like the perfect thing for me to make. So I opened up Excel and started creating it. It took A VERY VERY VERY long time and it’s going to be an ongoing project as I acquire new books over the months and years, but at least I’ve laid down the foundations! …
Everless is one of the books that I actually listened to on Audible. I’m always a bit apprehensive when I purchase an audiobook because it’s a lot money to waste on something that might have a narrator that you can’t connect with, and won’t be able to listen to for 10 hours. LUCKILY, I really liked the narrator for Everless. She made the story come to life and voiced the characters so well! …
This is the first year that I’m going to be going to YALC and I AM SO EXCITED! I’m going with so many amazing people as well that I have met from Twitter and who I have met up with before. It is an expensive weekend, to be honest. It was £50 for the ticket and then I had to book a hotel for the three nights, and then obviously there are going to be stalls where I’ll want to buy things, so it’s going to get very expensive. BUT! It only happens once a year, so I don’t mind. Anyway, here is the full overview of what I’m looking forward to, and my reading plans. …
I started the audiobook for Daughter of the Siren Queen straight after I finished the first book because I just couldn’t get enough of Alosa and her adventures. I am SO GLAD that I didn’t have to wait a year in between each book because I don’t know how I would have managed. …
I wasn’t actually EVER going to read this book. I’m not a massive fan of pirates, and I genuinely thought that it was a middle-grade novel. It is DEFINITELY NOT a middle-grade novel, and this novel takes the tropes of a pirate and flips them on their head. …
Hey, guys and welcome to my May wrap up! I always do them on my YouTube channel but I never considered doing it on my website because I didn’t really know what to include on here apart from what books I’ve read (obviously). But after some deliberation, I came up with a couple of ideas to give you guys some insight as to what’s going on in my life. This one is a little bit longer than my April wrap up as I watched A LOT more television and films!

So I kind of went a bit overboard for buying books in May… I genuinely don’t know what’s wrong with me! I CAN’T STOP BUYING BOOKS! Like previous book hauls, this one is split into sections: graphic novels, manga, and then ‘normal’ books. There is normally an academic book section (because I have a tendency to buy A LOT of academic books), but this month, I didn’t buy any!
