Wow, okay so YALC has just happened… It’s been nearly 2 weeks since I came back from YALC, and after seeing so much traffic for my daily YALC posts, I decided to write an opinions piece on it. I feel like this is such an important thing to do, because people need to raise awareness of the good things and the bad, so that the Showmasters can decide which things need improving for next year.
I do have a lot of thoughts on YALC, both positive and negative and I’m going to try and explain the negative as best as I can. Do remember, this year was my first year at YALC, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, other than what my friends have said. …
Ahhhh, I have been waiting for this book for so long! After reading (and loving) Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda, and watching the film (and loving that as well), I was eagerly awaiting to join my favourite group of fictional friends again and to see what they get up to.
I actually didn’t buy that many books this month! It’s a miracle! Most of these are pre-orders as well, so it’s not like I also went to the bookstore and spontaneously bought loads of book as well.
HOWEVER!
I did also go to YALC at the end of July, and OBVIOUSLY, I bought some books whilst I was there. But, the YALC haul was so big that I didn’t want to include it in my normal book hauls, so I made a separate post which you can read here.
Anyway, let’s get on with my June book haul!
Hayley Barker is the author of best-selling horror/circus book Show Stopper and for the release of the sequel: Show Stealer, I’ve teamed up with Scholastic on their blog tour. For this post, Barker has written a piece on growth mindset and she shares with us, her thoughts on her childhood and how the mindset that she had whilst growing up, shaped how she is today.
Thank you to Scholastic for sending me an unsolicited copy of Show Stealer, and thank you to Hayley Barker for writing this incredible piece of writing. …
Hey, guys and welcome to my July wrap up! I read so many books this month in preparation for YALC, and I loved reading loads of books this month, and I really want to carry on reading loads in the coming months.
Anyway, let’s get on with the wrap-up! …
Hello, there! AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER MONTHS WORTH OF NEW RELEASES! I’ve pre-ordered most of these books and I can’t wait for them to arrive and then I can read them straight away. Who am I kidding? I’m not going to read them as soon as they arrive… I wish I could though. There’s quite a lot of amazing releases coming out in August!
Disclaimer: all of the release dates shown here are taken from Amazon.co.uk …
It was the last day of YALC today and honestly, I AM SO SAD! I’ve met so many amazing people from Twitter and made some great friends that I can’t wait to see again. I know that YALC is a celebration of Young Adult literature, but it’s the people there and the friends that you make that really make the weekend what it is: BRILLIANT. …
Another day means another day of YALC, which consequently means another day OF BOOK SHOPPING! As expected, today was jam-packed with anything and everything. There were loads of big-name authors that were signing, there were amazing panels, and there were quite a few giveaways! Like I said: JAM-PACKED! …
Welcome to my YALC diary DAY TWO!! If you haven’t read my post about my first day in London, then you can check it out here. Technically, today was the first day of YALC, but because I got to London yesterday, then for me, today is day two.
Since it was the first day of YALC, I had a lot planned, and I wanted to make sure that I got around to everything. I’m a YALC newbie, so I wanted to SEE everything, DO everything and just take everything in. …
