I was perusing my library one afternoon when I came across this book sitting on one of the shelves. I had never heard about it before, but after reading the book, I was instantly intrigued.
The one good thing about studying English at university, is that you have to read books that you never dreamt of reading, books that you didn’t even know existed. And sure, analysing the heck out of them *sometimes* takes the fun out of reading them for pleasure, but hey, at the end of the day, you’ve read a book that is new to you and that’s good! With Dawn, it was like that. I’d never heard of it (even though I HAD heard of Butler’s Kindred), and I hadn’t exactly had the best encounters with the other science fiction books that I had had to read for my course. But you know what? I actually really enjoyed this one. …
Hey, guys and welcome to my August wrap up! I tried to read as many books this month as I did last month, and I think I did alright, to be honest. Being on holiday for 9 days helped a lot though because it meant that I had a lot of time to relax by the pool and just read.
Anyway, let’s get on with the wrap-up! …
I actually didn’t buy that many books this month! It’s a miracle! Most of these are pre-orders as well, so it’s not like I also went to the bookstore and spontaneously bought loads of book (but I did spontaneously buy a few! I couldn’t resist!)
Also, because I have to go back to university in September, I had to buy quite a few books for my courses. I’m studying science fiction and novel writing, but all of the books that I had to buy were for my science fiction class. I HAVE A LOT OF UNI BOOKS TO READ BEFORE I GO BACK AND IT’S SO STRESSFUL!

Hello, there! AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER MONTHS WORTH OF NEW RELEASES! I’ve pre-ordered most of these books and I can’t wait for them to arrive and then I can read them straight away. Who am I kidding? I’m not going to read them as soon as they arrive… I wish I could though. There’s quite a lot of amazing releases coming out in September and a lot of them are standalones as well which means I don’t have to commit myself TO YET ANOTHER series.

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month the theme was ‘Mutinous Pirates’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew EXACTLY what the book of the month was going to be – so I had to cancel my pre-order. But even though I knew what the book was going to be, I was still so excited to get a pirate themed box!

I’m actually writing this two weeks after YALC has finished… It took me so long to do this blog post, from taking the pictures, to including the links! Anyway, as the title suggests, this post shows you all of the things that I got whilst I was at YALC in London this year. I didn’t actually BUY a lot. Most of the things that you can see in this post are free things that I managed to pick up whilst I was there.
