January Releases |2020

January Releases |2020

Hello, there! Welcome to another post where I share all of the monthly releases that I’m excited for. As usual, I’ve split this post into two sections: the first one are the books that I’ve pre-ordered, and the the other section are other releases that I’m interested in but haven’t pre-ordered.

I can’t believe that it’s already 2020… Just let me lie here and come to terms with how fast everything is going.

Disclaimer: all of the release dates shown here are taken from Amazon.co.uk

2020 Releases I’m Excited For!

2020 Releases I’m Excited For!

I was actually going to put in all of the pictures of the books that I’m excited for in 2020, and then also put the release date and then the synopsis next to the book, but then I realised that this post would be hundreds of miles long so I decided against it.

Instead, you have the book covers for the books and then like always, at the end of the month, I will write a monthly releases post where the release date and the synopsis will be.

These are only 24 of the releases I’m excited for, and they’re in non particular order. There’s about 60 more, but I really didn’t want this to be a long post!

My Year in Books | 2019

My Year in Books | 2019

2019 is done, and I’m praying that 2020 is a better year for my personal life, but also for reading as well. If you’ve been following me on Goodreads, Twitter, or on my blog, you will know that my reading year has not been good. AT ALL. BUT, let’s let the stats speak for themselves. Here we go. Here are my stats and all of the books that I read in 2019.

End of 2019 | Book Tag

End of 2019 | Book Tag

2019 was a bit of a shit year, to be honest. You can read all about the shitty times here. But there were a few good things that happened as well.

  • I went to New York with my best friend
  • I went to YALC
  • I finished my degree
  • Started my Masters

However, it really hasn’t been a good year for reading or blogging, and I’m quite disappointed in myself for how little I’ve read. But, I’m blaming that on how much I’ve been struggling this year with my mental health.

Anyway, let’s get on with the post.

YALC Haul | 2019

YALC Haul | 2019

I’m actually writing this two weeks after YALC has finished… It took me so long to do this blog post, from taking the pictures, to including the links! Anyway, as the title suggests, this post shows you all of the things that I got whilst I was at YALC in London this year. I didn’t actually BUY a lot. Most of the things that you can see in this post are free things that I managed to pick up whilst I was there.

So without any further ado, let’s get on with the haul!

My Thoughts on YALC | 2019

My Thoughts on YALC | 2019

This is my second year at YALC and I was so excited to go so that I could see all of my friends again and some more amazing authors. If you want to read about what I thought of YALC last year, check out my blog post.

I can’t believe that it’s a second year of YALC that’s been and gone. The tickets are available to purchase in January, and it seems like you’re waiting forever for July to come around, and when it does, BAM, it’s already over.

I feel like an opinion piece for YALC is so important, because people need to raise awareness of things that could be improved and the things that are doing well so that the organisers can improve on them next year.

Where to begin with this review?! It’s not going to be as long as my other reviews as I know that I’m probably going to find it really hard to review this book without letting on to any spoilers!

I am so happy that Muse of Nightmares is FINALLY out, however, I’m gutted because it’s only a duology and I NEED MORE of Lazlo and Sarai. I mean… I guess that I could just keep re-reading the books, right?

As soon as I read the blurb for Internment, I knew that I had to request an early copy of it, and I am so glad that I did. I know that I only read it two months before the release date, but it meant that I could rave about it for two months and convinced loads of my friends to pre-order or buy it when it came out in the shops.

Content warnings: death, murder, islamophobia, racism, violence, torture, internment camps.
