February Wrap Up | 2021
Well… that’s another month down. I can’t believe that it’s the panniversary soon. Uggghhhhh, it’s disgusting even thinking about that in a few days, it’s been a year since COVID hit the U.K. ONE YEAR. ONE BLOODY YEAR. God, it’s been shit, hasn’t it?
In December and January, I put my heart and soul into reading a blogging, which can be seen in the 20-odd books that I read in January. However, for me, February was the month of video games for me, and reading was put on the back burner for the month. Will I read more in March? I have no idea.
Again, I’m going to be leaving out the TV/Films that I watched during the month. Since my blog post on TV/Films That I’ve Loved This Year was so popular, I decided that I’m going to make that into a separate blog series.
My blog schedule is still Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Let’s get on with the January wrap up!
Books I Read:
The Flatshare by Beth O’ Leary: This has been on my TBR for such a long time (probably since it was released), and I’ve finally gotten around to reading it, and it lived up to all of my expectations. I really really enjoyed it. 4.5/5
The Love & Lies of Rukhsana Ali by Sabina Khan: A YA contemporary with a gay Muslim protagonist? SIGN ME UP. It was brilliant. The characters, the story line… everything about this book made me happy inside. 4/5
Book(s) I’m Currently Reading:
Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed: I absolutely LOVED Internment by Samira Ahmed and after I had read that, I knew that Ahmed would be an auto-buy/auto-read author for me. I’m about 3/4 of the way through this book, and I’m really enjoying it so far!
Life Update:
- Seriously though… what more can I write for this section each month other than… I’m in lockdown with the rest of the country. It’s boring… I’m being lazy… I’ve watched way too much TV (blog post coming soon about that), and the two books that I DID read, were at the beginning of the month so from the 7th February onwards, I read fuck all.
- I had my virtual MA graduation. It was VEEERRRRYYYY different. I didn’t get dressed up or anything, but I had a cardboard graduation cap, and I wore my university hoodie! (Don’t judge me in the pictures. I’ve put on weight during lockdown, and haven’t worn make up in MOONNTTHHHSS!!)
- PANCAKE DAY!
- It was our rabbit’s (her name is Bean) 1st birthday, so me and my sister went to Pets at Home and bought some toys for her, and then bought some things for Luna (our dog) so that she didn’t feel left out!
- I pretty much spent all of February on my Switch. I got all caught up with Animal Crossing, as I had missed the Toy Day event and New Years, so I went back on did all the events, and then I just kept time travelling. I started making my haunted mansion, a graveyard, and just a few picnic areas.
- I also completed Luigi’s Mansion and OH MY GOD, it’s such an amazing game. If you love Mario Brothers, you’ll definitely enjoy this game. It’s slightly challenging in places, it’s entertaining, and the graphics are phenomenal.
