Top 10 Tuesday: Favourite Bookish Couples | 09/02/21
Yes, I’m here again with another Top 10 Tuesday post. I’m trying to get back into taking part in the weekly challenge as I love how it brings the book blogging community together!
This week is a Valentine’s Day freebie, so we can choose whatever topic we want that relates to Valentine’s Day in any way, so I decided to share ten of my favourite bookish couples!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish list prompt originally hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
The topic for this week is:
Valentine’s Day/Love Freebie
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
When I first thought of this topic, the couple that first came to mind was Po and Katsa from Graceling. I love their relationship so much. The same goes with Ayla and Crier from Crier’s War. Even though their relationship had a rocky start (enemies to lovers), when they’re together, they’re adorable. When it comes to Legendborn, your OTP can go either way: Bree and Nick, or Bree and Selwyn. Personally? Bree and Nick for the win. And of course, I couldn’t kick off this post without including Kel and Lila from A Darker Shade of Magic.
Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell from Stalking Jack the Ripper have to be one of my favourite couples of all time. I love everything about them (apart from that little hiccup in Escaping From Houdini). From one Kerri Maniscalco book to another, Emilia and Wrath from Kingdom of the Wicked is another enemies to lovers novel that I just can’t get enough of! Next, we move onto one of the more obvious choices for this topic. I could choose Nina and Matthais, but for me, this one has to go Jesper and Wylan from Six of Crows. God, I love those two so much!
The Bone Season is one of my favourite series of all time, and after reading the latest book – The Mask Falling – it’s hard not to fall harder in love with Paige and Warden. Then, we have Lei and Wren from Girls of Paper and Fire. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this at YALC 2018, and I read it straight away. I fell in love with Lei and Wren instantly. And finally, we have one of my more recent reads: the Criminal Intentions series. Malcom and Seong-Jae Yoon are… an interesting OTP. There is so much banter/hate/love, and I just can’t get enough of it.
Future Top 10 Tuesday Topics:
February 16: Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers (in honor of Mardis Gras, which is today!)
February 23: Books That Made Me Laugh Out Loud (Claire @ Book Lovers Pizza)
March 2: Characters Whose Job I Wish I Had (maybe not even because the job sounds fun, but maybe the co-workers are cool or the boss is hot?)
March 9: Spring Cleaning Freebie (for example, books you’re planning to get rid of for whatever reason, book’s you’d like to clean off your TBR by either reading them or deciding you’re not interested, books that feel fresh and clean to you after winter is over, etc.)
March 16: Books On My Spring 2021 TBR
March 23: Funny Book Titles
March 30: Places In Books I’d Love to Live
April 6: Books I’d Gladly Throw Into the Ocean (submitted by Beauty & Her Books)
April 13: Book Titles That Sound Like They Could Be Crayola Crayon Colors (Take a moment and Google some of the crazy Crayola crayon colors that exist. Can you think of any book titles that sound like they could also be a crayon color? It might be fun to include a description of the kind of color you’re picturing.)
April 20: Colorful Book Covers
April 27: Animals from Books (these could be mythical, real, main characters, sidekicks, companions/pets, shifters, etc.) (Submitted by Paige @paigesquared and Jennifer Y. @ Never Too Many to Read)

Thomas and Audrey Rose made my list, too. Great post!
The Bone Season does sound good.

I’m also a big fan of Jesper and Wylan, they have such a fun dynamic! I also like Audrey Rose and Thomas and Kell and Lila. I’ve not been a massive fan of Paige and Warden in The Bone Season series thus far, mainly because Warden feels a little bland to me, but he’s actually been growing on me in The Mask Falling.

So many fantastic choices! I loveeee Six of Crows! Are you excited for the tv series? Here’s my post: https://mybookthrone.wordpress.com/2021/02/09/top-ten-tuesday-valentines/
I’ve seen Stalking Jack the Ripper on several lists this week. I think I need to check that one out! Love all the couples in Six of Crows! <3
