January Wrap Up | 2021
I can’t believe that January is already over… It genuinely only seemed like yesterday when I was writing my December Wrap Up post, and I was just marvelling over how many blog posts I had written that month. I wrote a blog post every. single. day (apart from Christmas Day) in December and I am so proud of myself considering how little I had blogged during the rest of the year.
Even though the U.K. is in lockdown #3, and I’m not working (which sucks), having all of this time means I can put all of my effort into blogging and reading which feels good!
I’m going to be following the same layout as I did last month, as I think that it worked really well. Again, I’m going to be leaving out the TV/Films that I watched during the month. Since my blog post on TV/Films That I’ve Loved This Year was so popular, I decided that I’m going to make that into a separate blog series.
I’ve decided that I’m going to try and maintain the blog schedule that I had during January. Last year, I would post whenever I would feel like it. It would be constantly changing from once a week to 5 times a week to 3 times a week. There was never a set schedule. So, for January, I decide that I would post on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This actually worked really well for me, so I’m going to stick to those days!
Let’s get on with the January wrap up!
Books I Read:
Wow… Just wow…. I can’t believe that I’ve already read this many books. I’ve got hand it to Kirsty (@ kirstyreadsblog) and Kate (@ readingthroughinfinity) though, because they introduced me to the Criminal Intentions series and as you can see… I kinda binge-read most of the first season. And then, I remembered that I had actually made a January TBR post and I had read 0 books on the cart.
So, I set the series down, and started tackling my TBR. I started reading Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore, but then realised that I had completely forgotten all of the characters and what had happened, so I re-read the series which was a great help. And once I had finished Winterkeep, I was kinda on a roll. I read 2 ARCs that have been on the top of my TBR list, managed to squeeze in some manga, and then ended the month off with Wilder Girls, which has also been on my TBR for a very long time.
Overall, January was a brilliant reading month. I read 21 books, so – fingers crossed – I’m hoping that I can stick with that motivation to keep reading.
Book(s) I’m Currently Reading:
I’m currently on page 78 of The Flatshare by Beth O’ Leary, and so far, I’m really enjoying it! I’ve heard so many amazing things about this book, so I’m glad that I’m finally getting around to reading it. I thought that I would have finished it by the end of January, but it turns out that I needed a couple of days of just binge-watching TV.
Life Update:
- Not much has really happened this month. We’re still in the third lockdown, I’m still not working.
- BUT! I carried on with my obsession with watching CNN, and watched Trump get impeached for the second time, and then watched the Joe Biden inauguration.
- Managed to stick to my blog schedule, so I’m pretty proud of myself for that
- Applied for a couple of publishing jobs (probs won’t get them).
- Binge-watched loads of TV, so keep you eyes peeled for another blog post outlining the TV that I’ve been loving lately.
- We had more snow.
- Mental health hit an all time low and had to ring the Samaritans… I’d just kinda had enough.
