My Year in Books | 2020
Well, how much of a shit show was 2020?! I know that 2021 isn’t going to be miraculously better, but we can hope! When it came to my reading, I was in a slump for most of the year, but I still managed to achieve my Goodreads Challenge which was 50 books!
I’ve set myself some reading goals for next year, and I’m hoping that I can read at least 50 books again next year as my TBR pile is just way too big.
Anyway, let’s get on with it!
In November, it wasn’t looking as if I would complete my Goodreads goal. I just wasn’t in the mood to read, but there was no way that I was going to fail. It was a personal thing for me, it was something that I could focus all of my energy on, so at the beginning of December, I put blogging and reading first and charged on ahead.
Overall, I’ve had a very good reading year. Most of the books that I’ve read in 2020 have been very enjoyable!
This is always the part of the Goodreads stats that intrigue me the most. I’m always fascinated by which book has been the most popular, and I’m not surprised at all that Six of Crows was the book that was most popular. As for the least popular, The Fetch is a poetry book that’s written by my MA teacher!
Aaannnnnndddd I DID IT! After only reading 33 books last year, I am so so happy that I’ve managed to reach 50 books. I’m going to be setting the same goal for 2021, and hopefully, it will prove easier! But I’ll tell you what, manga and graphic novels saved my ass for the reading challenge. For the last week of December, those were the only things that I was reading 😂.
