December Wrap Up | 2020

December Wrap Up | 2020

I’m writing this on 1st January 2020. I’ve completed my Goodreads challenge of 50 books, and I’ve set my 2021 Goodreads challenge for the same amount. I’m sat in the living room with my dog snoring to the right-hand side of me, a cup of tea warming my hands, and the Christmas tree is sparkling. I am hoping, I am praying that 2021 is better than 2020, because I don’t think any of us could go through what we went through last year again.

Usually, for my wrap up posts, I include TV shows or films that I watched during that month, but since my blog post on TV/Films That I’ve Loved This Year was so popular, I’ve decided that I’m going to make it a frequent thing. Maybe not every month, but just when I’ve got a decent-sized collection that I can share with you. OOORRR… it may be a separate monthly thing, I don’t know.

Some other changes that are coming to the wrap-up posts are that I’m going to be including all of the blog posts that I’ve posted this month. Now, because it was December, and I posted every day (apart from Christmas), the list is going to be quite long. However, for the rest of the months, it’s going to be a smaller list.

I’ve decided that I’m going to try and maintain a blog schedule. Normally, I would post whenever I would feel like it. It would be constantly changing from once a week to 5 times a week to 3 times a week. There was never a set schedule. So, I’ve decided that I’m going to try posting on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I’m going to see if it works and if my blog engagement goes up or down, and then I’ll tweak it from there.

Bloody hell, this was a very long introduction, but there were a few changes that I wanted to share with you! Anyway, let’s get on with my December wrap up!

Books I Read:

Ok, so I know that most of these are manga and graphic novels, but I still did read 4 normal-sized (?) novels, which is VERY good for me as I’ve been struggling to read 2 lately. Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom have both been on my TBR ever since they came out, but because of the hype surrounding it, I was always wary of reading them. But finally, I’ve read them, I enjoyed them, and like everyone else, I’m waiting for Shadow and Bone to grace our TV’s on Netflix. The Mask Falling was also another book that I had to read. Not for publishers or anything like that. I got accepted on NetGalley for an e-arc and because this series is possibly one of my favourite of all time, I just had to read it!

Book(s) I’m Currently Reading:

Since I’ve read the other books in the Grishaverse, I knew it was time to read King of Scars, which follows one of my favourite characters ever: Nikolai. I’m actually listening to the audiobook, which is narrated by Lauren Fortgang (who is one of my favourites!), and whenever I get the chance, I follow along with the physical copy. I’m on page 120 at the moment, and I’m really enjoying it!

Life Update:

  • This month has just been super hard for my mental health… Because I work in a pub, I’m still not back at work since my area went into tier 3.
  • Managed to post a blog post every day, which is a massive win for me because for the past year, I haven’t been able to find the motivation to write any posts, and then when I do, I just find it really taxing.
  • It snowed loads, and my sister and I went sledging.
  • I managed to complete my Goodreads Challenge which was 50 books! (Thank god for manga and graphic novels, otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to complete it!)
  • I’ve been spending more time with my Mom and my sister, and we’ve been watching films every night which has been really nice. We’re currently in the middle of a Harry Potter re-watch!
  • My area left tier 3 and went into tier 4 which basically means we’re in a proper lockdown again…

Why the hell did I write so many blog posts?! If you prefer this new type of wrap up to my previous layouts, please do let me know. That would be really helpful 😁. I don’t know whether it’s too long or not, and now whilst I’m typing this, my anxiety is flaring up because I want everything to be good for all my readers… UGGGHHHHH… Don’t you just love mental health? 😅
