Baby It’s Cold Outside | Book Tag
Hey, guys! It’s December, it’s nearly the end of 2020, and IT’S FREEZING OUTSIDE here in the U.K. I mean, I’m not complaining, I much prefer Autumn and Winter, so I’m in my element right now! Because of the weather, I thought that it would be very fitting to do this book tag.
I found it over on Regina’s blog: Bookish in Bed and I loved the idea of doing it for myself!

Snow Day – What’s your “comfort” book?
I don’t really have a comfort book. Not one that I keep going back to, anyway. I guess I have a comfort genre though, and it’s definitely fantasy during the darker months. I love curling up in bed and listening to a fantasy audiobook, or reading a physical book while the rain is banging down on my roof.
Snow Angels – What’s a book that you love so much you would want to be buried with it (a little morbid, but…)?
Can I choose a series? I absolutely love the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. Everything about them was just *chefs kiss*, and I guess that the morbidity of the question fits in with the series as well!

Warm Socks – What’s a book that makes you feel warm inside? (The fluffiest, cutest romance you’ve ever read?)
I really had to browse through my Goodreads shelf for this, because I don’t really read a lot of romance. I chose Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley. It’s not the fluffiest, cutest book ever, but I really enjoyed the romance that was in the book, and IT’S A BOOK ABOUT BOOKS! So, what more is there to love?
But, then there was When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon which was absolutely hilarious, and I did really love the romance in that as well.
Hot Cocoa – What winter-themed novels have you previously read?
None? I don’t know, lemme just check Goodreads…
OHHH!!!
I’ve read Prisoner of Ice and Snow by Ruth Lauren which was a really enjoyable middle-grade novel! I keep meaning to read the sequel, but there are so many books on my TBR!
Sledding – What’s a book with the best plot twists? Who’s an author that always keeps you on your toes?
Definitely Helen Scheuerer. Her books are so well-written and I love all of the twists and turns that she includes in her books. Heart of Mist and Reign of Mist are the first two books in a trilogy, and I know that she’s got a couple more books out, which I’ll have to get round to as soon as possible!
Ugly Sweaters – What’s a book with the ugliest cover?
I’m going to try and pick a few out of the ones that I’ve already read… And they’re not UGLY, just not… well… the best. There’s We See Everything by William Sutcliffe, the U.K. versions of His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, The Host by Stephanie Meyer, and the early editions of the House of Night books by P.C. and Kristen Cast.
Movie Marathon – What’s the last book you binge read?
Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller, or Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco. I loved these books and read them in a few hours!
Letter to Santa – What’s a book that’s on your wishlist this year?
Don’t forget to wrap up warm if you’re in the colder countries, stay safe, and HAPPY READING!
