February Wrap Up | 2020
Hey, guys and welcome to my February wrap up! I read a couple more books this month due to me doing my Masters and having to read a few books for that. In addition to the ones listed here, I’ve also read 3/4 of Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo, and 3/4 of Possession by A.S. Byatt.
Anyway, let’s get on with the wrap-up!
Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie: I had to read this book for my MA Creative Writing and I did really enjoy it. It deals with very poignant topics such as Islamophobia. 4/5
The Fetch by Gregory Leadbetter: Ok, so maybe I’m going to be slightly biased here because Greg is actually my MA teacher and my friend and I were curious about his published poetry, so we decided to give it a read. It’s definitely not what I was expecting, and I really enjoyed it! 4/5
Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo: I am thoroughly enjoying this book. I can definitely see why it won the Booker Prize… It’s just… Perfect. If you’re thinking about reading this book, however, there are content warnings for rape, domestic abuse, and emotional abuse. I couldn’t see any trigger warnings on Goodreads or on the actual book.
Possession by A.S. Byatt: I just can’t talk about this book anymore. I’m bored.
Next in Fashion Season 1 (Netflix): Look, I’m obsessed with Queer Eye, ok? So, when Tan France announced that he was doing a reality fashion show, I was there. And it was amazing. 4/5
The Stranger Season 1 (Netflix): One of the best shows I have EVER seen. Enough said. 5/5
Safe Season 1 (Netflix): Pretty much follows the same premise as The Stranger (or The Stranger follows the same premise as Safe?) I didn’t find it as gripping as The Stranger, but still a good thriller. 4/5
Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (Netflix): This show is just… insane? There’s no other word to describe it. 4/5
- Dutch family came down to visit which was nice!
- I got my results back for the first half of my masters and I got two 2:1’s which I’m pretty pleased about.
What have you guys been up to this month? Let me know in the comments.
Until next time…
