January Wrap Up | 2020
Hey, guys and welcome to my January wrap up! I only read 1 book this month. I’m hoping to really tackle my humungous TBR over the next couple of months so fingers crossed I actually manage to get to some of the novels that have been sat on my shelf for a while.
Anyway, let’s get on with the wrap-up!
I only read one book in January, and that was Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (author unknown). I had to read this for my Masters and I actually really enjoyed it. I’m hoping that I can read more in February though.
4/5
Furyborn by Claire Legrand: I’m currently listening to the audiobook for this, but I’ve put it on hold so that I can concentrate on reading books for university. Furyborn is actually quite good, but I reached a little bit of a slump 3/4 of the way through, so I just need to get over that so I can finish it!
Possession by A.S. Byatt: I have to read this for university. I’m currently on page 100 and honestly… It’s one of the most boring things that I HAVE EVER READ! I don’t understand anything that is going on, the character irk me and just… UGGHHH.
Sex Education Season 2 (Netflix): One of the best shows ever created. I love it so much that I could just scream with happiness. 5/5
Kim Convenience Seasons 1-4 (Netflix): I fancied watching something quite upbeat, and I had heard so many good things about this show, so I decided to give it a go and a few days later, I had watched the whole series, and I’m now obsessed with it. 5/5
The Witcher S1 Episodes 1-4 (Netflix): Yes, I know. I still haven’t finished watching The Witcher. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, because I do. I think it’s a brilliant show so far and Henry Cavill is just… amazing. But I’ve fancied watching different types of shows other than high fantasy.
Hip-Hop Evolution Season 1-4 (Netflix): If you are interested in hip-hop music, then this show is a must-watch. It starts from the very very beginning of hip-hop with Grandmaster Flash to present day with Kanye West and Jay Z. It’s absolutely brilliant and had reignited the spark that I used to have for the genre. 4.5/5
Power S1 Episodes 1-6 (Netflix): This is another show that I’ve heard so many brilliant things about, and I really enjoyed it for the first couple of episodes. But then, the affair plot line was added where Ghost is cheating on his wife with some old school flame and I just can’t handle it. I really can’t. It’s too real for me, it’s too close to home, and I find it infuriating and sickening that the producers have made this plot line last for so long. I just want this part of the show to end so that I can carry on watching it.
Not much happened in January to be honest:
- I handed in the first part of my Masters and I get my results in a couple of weeks which is scary.
- I also had my graduation at the beginning of January for my degree!
What have you guys been up to this month? Let me know in the comments.
Until next time…
