Things I Wish Book Boxes Would Change | Discussion

Listen, we all love book subscription boxes. They’re like getting a birthday present every month and you get loads of brilliant surprises plus an amazing book for a reasonable(ish) price.

HOWEVER.

I do have my problems with them. For those regular readers of my blog, you will know that I only subscribe to one subscription box, and I get it every month. But, this post isn’t just me spilling the tea on this particular box, it’s boxes in general.

I also know that because I get a box every month, there’s bound to be repetition because companies have to cater for people who want to get one-off boxes,

But, like I said before, this post is talking about book subscription boxes as a whole!

I wish they would talk to other sub boxes so they don’t include the same book every month. Whenever I watch unboxings on YouTube of box subscription boxes, I ALWAYS notice that there seems to be duplicates of books. Now, if I – or anyone else – was to subscribe to multiple boxes, then they would receive duplicate books, and I just feels like a waste of money.

LESS PILLOW CASES PLEASE! There are only so many bloody pillows I can have. They are pretty much taking over my entire room now and I have no idea where to put them. I mean, I guess you’ve got the option of just switching over pillow cases when you want to.

I know that a couple of book subscription boxes do this, but I would like to see a recyclable book bag. You know… the little drawstring thingies that the book of the month comes in? I know that Fairy Loot and Illumicrate have these. I have used a few of mine to keep items from the book boxes in, and I’ve also used some as book sleeves, but the rest? I have no idea what to do with them, so it would be nice if companies changed what the books came in and made them recyclable.

LISTEN TO YOUR SUBSCRIBERS! If people are saying that your courier is useless, then listen to them and try and change couriers. I know that I have had subscription boxes left outside in the pouring rain when I have specifically told them to leave it in a safe space. I also know that a lot of people have had the same problem and asked the company to change courier.

Don’t get me wrong, I love receiving the boxes every month, I would just also like some variety in the items. Some things I would love to see more of would be jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, earrings), stationary, book posters, book quote art prints…

Anyway, I’m going to stop the post there because I don’t want my rantings to go on forever. Like I said at the beginning of the post, I know that I get boxes every month, so there are going to be duplicates but even so, I wish companies would try and switch things up every so often.
