Top 10 Tuesday: Favourite Couples in Books | 12/02/19
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish list prompt originally hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
The theme for this week is:
12th February: Favourite Couples in Books
Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell in Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
Even though their romance was a slow burning one and there was A LOT of flirting before, when they FINALLY got together, I was so happy!
Read my review of Stalking Jack the Ripper
Read my review of Hunting Prince Dracula
Read my review of Escaping from Houdini
Clary and Jace in The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
I can’t just NOT include Clary and Jace in this list. The first time that I read TMI was when I was 14, and it was one of the first YA romances that I ever read about.
Alec and Magnus in The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
Same as above, but it was the first gay romance that I ever read about. I still love these two together to this very day.
Hazel and Gus in The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
These two just break my heart. Enough said.
Henry and Percy in The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
The banter between these two is just incredible! But I also can’t get enough of how much they love and care about each other. They will walk to the end of the earth for the other and I just…. uggghhhh… so cute.
*Fun story: I typed in Henry and Percy on Google to find images and Thomas the tank engine came up. It’s safe to say that I snorted with laughter.*
Lei and Wren in Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
Girls of Paper and Fire was one my favourite books of 2018 for many many reasons, but one of them was due to the incredible romance between Lei and Wren. I can’t wait to read about them even more in book number 2.
Simon and Bran in Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Again, I don’t know how I can write a list of favourite couples without including these two. Everyone who read/watched Simon vs. fell in love with the cute romance that these two have and how much they love each other.
Alana and Marko in Saga by Brian K. Vaughan
Saga is one of my favourite series of all time and Alana and Marko are also the ONLY adult couple on this list which is crazy. Just shows which genre I read the most of… Alana and Marko have been through so much together, but they love each other so fiercely. Brb, just going to go and cry in a corner…
Ronan and Adam in The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
GUYS! GUYS! GUYS! MAGGIE HAS RELEASED THE COVER AND TITLE FOR THE DREAMER TRILOGY AND I’M SO EXCITED! Ronan is one of those characters that I love so much. And even though Adam had his moments where I really didn’t like him, these two are just too precious.
Lou and Robert in A Sky Painted Gold by Laura Wood
These two are probably one of the more unknown couples but anyone who has read A Sky Painted Gold will understand why I ship these two so hard. They are caring, and they listen to each others problems and even though they are such an unlikely couple, I really do love them together.
