Fairy Loot January Unboxing | 2019
Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month the theme was ‘Unbreakable Bonds’ and when the theme was announced last month, and I had no idea what this book was going to be… No clue AT ALL, so that added an element of excitement to this month!
Let’s get on with the unboxing…
Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork which is designed by Taratjah! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!
The first item that I saw when I opened up this months Fairy Loot was this Remnant Chronicles inspired hot chocolate! I love hot chocolate so much so this was a brilliant addition to the box, plus it’s also vegan! The item was bought to us by The Tea Leaf Company.

RRP: £4.99
The next item was this headscarf which I would absolutely love to wear but alas, accessories like this just don’t suit me! I’m going to give it a go and see if I can style my hair in a certain way so that I can pull it off, but I really don’t think I will which is a massive shame because it’s gorgeous! The headscarf was designed by FictionTea Designs and was inspired by Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo.
What kind of book subscription box would it be without a candle? And what kind of friendship book box would it be without an item inspired by Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare? I love these two so much and I am so happy that there is an item in here that is dedicated to their amazing friendship.
RRP: £8.00
The next item that I saw was this lip balm that was created by Book and Nook and is inspired by the friendship between Jules and Arsinoe in Kendare Blake’s Three Dark Crowns series. I’m yet to read Three Dark Crowns, but I’ve heard so many amazing things about it so I’m really excited.
I can never have enough pillows! My Mom keeps shouting at me because of the amount of pillows that I have in my reading nook, but I’m obsessed, okay? I can’t help it! And it doesn’t help that Fairy Loot include so many beautiful designs in their boxes so I just HAVE to have them on display. This pillow case was inspired by The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and was designed by KDP Letters and Monolimeart.

Like the pillow cases, I can’t get enough of bookmarks. I love them so much, especially Ink and Wonder’s ‘Woodmarks’ that are always so beautifully designed and are such good quality as well. This woodmark was inspired by Lord of the Rings and the friendship between Sam and Frodo. The woodmark says ‘there is some good in this world and it’s worth fighting for.’
RRP: AU$8.99
One of the promotional items that were included in this months box was this postcard advertising Once and Future which is a re-telling of King Arthur which sounds amazing!
When Ari crash-lands on Old Earth and pulls a magic sword from its ancient resting place, she is revealed to be the newest reincarnation of King Arthur. Then she meets Merlin, who has aged backward over the centuries into a teenager, and together they must break the curse that keeps Arthur coming back. Their quest? Defeat the cruel, oppressive government and bring peace and equality to all humankind.
No pressure.

Last year, Fairy Loot revealed that they were going to start including trading cards in their boxes, and with your vote, the first lot of trading cards were going to be inspired by A Court of Thorns of Roses. Last month, Fairy Loot included Amren and Cassian, and this month, they have included Feyre and Azriel!
The other promotional item that was included in the box was this postcard for The Black Coats by Colleen Oakes and is about vengeance seeking women who want to bring justice to the men that have murdered/hurt women. It sounds really interesting and I can’t wait to get my hands on it when it’s released in February.
Roses are read, violets are blue, if you hurt us, we’re coming for you.
The deeply secretive Black Coats have been exacting vengeance on men who hurt girls and women for years. And Thea has just received an invitation to join them. This is the opportunity she’s been waiting for to finally get justice for her cousin Natalie, whose killer went free.
Thea dives head first into the group, training every day with other girls whose stories rival hers. Together they carry out Balancings—acts of revenge guaranteed to teach a lesson. With every predator threatened, every blackmailer exposed, and every date rapist punished, Thea can feel herself getting closer to avenging Natalie’s death.
But then the Balancings begin to escalate in brutality, and Thea discovers that the Black Coats are not all they seem to be. Thea must confront just how far she’s willing to go for justice—and what kind of justice Natalie, and Thea herself, deserve. Because when the line between justice and revenge is razor thin, it’s hard not to get cut.

Annnnndddd, the book of the month is Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye. I haven’t really heard a lot about this book, to be honest. I know that it was on the Goodreads list of Anticipated 2019 Releases, but I haven’t heard a lot of book bloggers or book tubers talk about it, so I’m very excited to give it a go!
This month’s book was physically signed by the author and has gorgeous, light purple spray-painted pages.
Along with the book, there was also a letter from the author with some character art work on the back that was designed by @sallteas who is incredibly talented!
Sora can move as silently as a ghost and hurl throwing stars with lethal accuracy. Her gemina, Daemon, can win any physical fight blindfolded and with an arm tied behind his back. They are apprentice warriors of the Society of Taigas—marked by the gods to be trained in magic and the fighting arts to protect the kingdom of Kichona.
As their graduation approaches, Sora and Daemon look forward to proving themselves worthy of belonging to the elite group—but in a kingdom free of violence since the Blood Rift Rebellion many years ago, it’s been difficult to make their mark. So when Sora and Daemon encounter a strange camp of mysterious soldiers while on a standard scouting mission, they decide the only thing to do to help their kingdom is to infiltrate the group.Taking this risk will change Sora’s life forever—and lead her on a mission of deception that may fool everyone she’s ever loved.

As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with the author and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / January 2019 / ‘Unbreakable Bonds’ printed on the back!
Thank you to Fairy Loot for another month of bookish goodness. I can’t wait for next months box which is themed Beast & Beauty. I know exactly what the book is going to be for next month as I’ve already read it, and I really enjoyed it!
Fairy Loot have stated that the book will be an exclusive hardcover edition as the UK edition is only paperback, it will have a silky ribbon bookmark, and will be covered in holographic foil. Fairy Loot have also said that there will be a rose-shaped bookplate signed by the author included!
One of the items that they are going to be including is a wall tapestry, which is something that I have been dying to be included in a Fairy Loot box so I just hope that it’s brilliant so that I can hang it on my only blank wall!
Don’t forget to check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures and details of their past book boxes and to also see their price plans for subscriptions. You can find all of my unboxings on my unboxings page…
Believe me guys, you do not want to miss out!
