WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam on Taking on a World of Words. Anyone can participate by answering the three questions below and then posting a link to your post from your blog on Sam’s website, or just answer the questions on her post if you do not have a blog.
The three questions (Ws) are:
1.) What are you currently reading?
2.) What did you recently finish reading?
3.) What do you think you’ll read next?
So without any further ado, let’s get on with it, shall we?
Title: The Traitor’s Game
Author: Jennifer A. Nielsen
Progress: 62%
Thoughts:
I’m still on the same part as I was FIVE weeks ago which is awful. I just haven’t had the chance to read anything because of university assessments… Which means that this update is taken from last weeks WWW post.
I’m listening to the audiobook for this. I did want the physical copy because the cover is absolutely gorgeous, but I’m trying to save money, so the audiobook seemed a good way to go.
Last week, I said that the book was captivating but it didn’t seem like it was anything special. This week, I’ve changed my tune completely. Even though I know that this book won’t be 5/5, it’s still a brilliant book and in the last 20% that I’ve read, it’s had me on the edge of my seat and I’ve been listening to it everywhere I go. I would have finished it last week as well, but I had to read a book for university, so I had to put The Traitor’s Game on hold. But since I’ve got a few days free before I need to start reading another book for uni, I can read this!
Title: Descendants
Author: Rae Else
Progress: 18%
Thoughts:
I’ve read a little bit more than I had last week… 10%, whoo! The storyline is all coming back to me now but I think that I’m still going to carry on reading it because I would like the book to be super fresh in my mind before I start reading the second book. I still absolutely love the idea that the women in this book are descendants of Medusa. I THINK THAT’S AWESOME!
Title: The Crystal World
Author: JG Ballard
Progress: 47%
Thoughts:
I had to finish reading this for class last week but I never got around to finishing it because it’s so slow going. It’s not a BAD book per se… it’s just so unlike anything that I normally read, and I have to Google what some words mean, so it’s a very stop-start reading process.
The story itself is quite interesting and the characters are alright, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how this story ends.
Title: The Man in the High Castle
Author: Philip K. Dick
Progress: 25/249
Thoughts:
Again, this is another book that I have to read my my university course. I started this yesterday morning and I’m actually quite enjoying it. It flits between perspectives quite often which took me a while to. get used to, but it’s so interesting to read about a world where Hitler won the war.
I have actually seen the first season of the TV show, but I can’t remember what happens so I’m glad that the show isn’t going to affect my judgement of what I think about the book.
Title: All the Rage
Author: Courtney Summers
Progress: 43/321
Thoughts:
This is one of the many books that I got from my local library. I’m really trying to save some money by getting books out of the library, and this was a book that was on my Amazon to-buy list.
There are definitely trigger warnings for this book as it’s one that surrounds the happening of a rape. As you can see, I’m not actually that far into the novel yet as I have a thousand books on the go… Ok, I have 5 but that’s still a lot!!
Honestly, I have no idea. I have 5 books that I need to FINISH before I even start thinking about the book that I’m going to read next. There are books that I have to read for university though so it’s probably going to be one of those.
It’s nice to keep you guys updated on what I’m reading, and even though I do an end-of-the-month wrap-up, you never get to see what I’m reading during the week.
Until next time…
