The Birthday Book Tag
So guys… TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY… Yupp, I turned 23 as of 2:23am and I can’t believe it. The time from my 18th birthday til now has gone so quick, it terrifies me. But to make myself feel better, I thought that I would do the BIRTHDAY BOOK TAG! I saw this on Bionic Book Worm’s blog and absolutely loved it. The original creator of this tag is Antonia over at Always Books.
Let’s get into the tag!
1 – BIRTHDAY CAKE – a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway
Frostblood trilogy by Elly Blake: So here we have a special snowflakeTM main character, a love-to-hate relationship, hidden identities… But you know what? I absolutely love it.
2 – PARTY GUESTS – your most anticipated book release this year
Evermore by Sara Holland: I don’t know whether this is for the rest of the year so the books that are coming out in December, or from my birthday til next November… Or even whether it’s books that have come out in 2018… Hmmmm… But I’m going to go with books that are being released in the last remnants of 2018, which is Evermore by Sara Holland. I would say Queen of Air and Darkness but I haven’t read Lady Midnight or Lord of Shadows so….
3 – BIRTHDAY PRESENTS – a book that surprised you with how much you loved it
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller: Again, does this account for all the books that I have ever read, or ones this year? To narrow it down, I’m going to pick from the books that I’ve read this year, and my answer is Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. My expectations were very average, but once I had finished listening to the audiobook, I absolutely loved it and started the second on within half an hour.
4 – THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG – a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got
The Hate U Give: no explanation needed.
5 – HAPPY MUSIC – a book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven: I didn’t really enjoy the book that book (the reasons why are a completely different story), but boy did Niven really capture my attention. That book is tabbed so much.
6 – GETTING OLDER – a book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read it as a more mature reader
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee: The last time I read this book was in Year 11 (when I was 16)… Fast forward 7 years and I think it’s time for a re-read.
7 – SWEET BIRTHDAY MEMORIES – a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life
Twilight saga by Stephanie Meyer: I read this series when I was 14/15, and that was the time in my life when I started suffering with anxiety and depression. Reading those books was sort of an escape for me, and because loads of my friends were reading them as well, it helped me socialise and talk about them.
So that was the birthday book tag! I’m hoping that I can follow up this post in a couple weeks with a big birthday book haul!!
Until next time…
