WWW Wednesday | 24/10/18
WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam on Taking on a World of Words. Anyone can participate by answering the three questions below and then posting a link to your post from your blog on Sam’s website, or just answer the questions on her post if you do not have a blog.
The three questions (Ws) are:
1.) What are you currently reading?
2.) What did you recently finish reading?
3.) What do you think you’ll read next?
So without any further ado, let’s get on with it, shall we?
Title: The Traitor’s Game
Author: Jennifer A. Nielsen
Progress: 62%
Thoughts:
I’m still on the same part as where I was last week which means that this update is taken from last weeks WWW post.
I’m listening to the audiobook for this. I did want the physical copy because the cover is absolutely gorgeous, but I’m trying to save money, so the audiobook seemed a good way to go.
Last week, I said that the book was captivating but it didn’t seem like it was anything special. This week, I’ve changed my tune completely. Even though I know that this book won’t be 5/5, it’s still a brilliant book and in the last 20% that I’ve read, it’s had me on the edge of my seat and I’ve been listening to it everywhere I go. I would have finished it last week as well, but I had to read a book for university, so I had to put The Traitor’s Game on hold. But since I’ve got a few days free before I need to start reading another book for uni, I can read this!
Title: We See Everything
Author: William Sutcliffe
Progress: 67/304
Thoughts:
I’m not that far into it so I haven’t really got a solid opinion on the book, but so far I’m enjoying it. I do love a good dystopian novel where everything seems to have gone a bit messed up. I’m also loving this right now because I’m studying Science Fiction at university, so I’m recognising a lot of the elements that I’m learning at uni in this book which is great. Maybe next week, I will have finished this book and I will be able to give you a more detailed opinion.
Title: Trapped in Room 217
Author: Thomas Kingsley Troupe
Thoughts:
This was such a quick read! I think that it’s about 150 pages? Or something like that anyway. This is marketed as a middle-grade horror story that is based on true stories and is part of a series by Troupe that talks about a paranormal story from each state in the U.S.A.
Even though it’s a middle-grade story, I was terrified. I’m an absolute wuss when it comes to scary stuff, so when I was reading this at 2 o’clock in the morning, I think that it’s safe to say, I put my bedroom light on because I was getting freaked out.
Title: The Lantern’s Ember
Author: Colleen Houck
Thoughts:
I’m still not 100% on how I feel about this book. When I was reading it, I enjoyed it and loved how fast-paced the storyline was. But when I wasn’t reading it, I didn’t feel a lot of motivation to pick it up. So I don’t really know how I’m going to rate this, to be honest.
It’s definitely going to have to be The Crystal World by J.G. Ballard because I have to read it for my science fiction university class.
I DID want to read Muse of Nightmares before Friday, but that’s definitely not going to happen because it’s a 400-odd page book, and I have 2 days.
It’s nice to keep you guys updated on what I’m reading, and even though I do an end-of-the-month wrap-up, you never get to see what I’m reading during the week.
Until next time…
