First Impression Friday | 26/10/18
If you’re not aware of what First Impression Friday is, it was created by Joe at JW Martin – Storeys of Stories where, every Friday, he talks about his first impressions of his current read. I actually think that I’m going to do this bi-weekly because, at the moment, I don’t think that I’m going to be reading books that quick due to university.
I also think that – where Joe has said that he will just come back to his FIF post and link his reviews – I’m going to come back to the post, and just write if I was wrong or right. So I have my predicted ratings, and then I’m going to write my actual rating and a couple of sentences on what I actually thought. But I will link my full review as well (once it’s written!)
Title: We See Everything

Genre: YA Dystopian

Lex lives on The Strip – the overcrowded, closed-off, bombed-out shell of London. He’s used to the watchful enemy drones that buzz in the air above him.
Alan’s talent as a gamer has landed him the job of his dreams. At a military base in a secret location, he is about to start work as a drone pilot.
These two young men will never meet, but their lives are destined to collide. Because Alan has just been assigned a high-profile target. Alan knows him only as #K622. But Lex calls him Dad.
I’m currently on page 50 of this, and so far, it’s definitely captured my attention. Being an avid gamer myself, I think it’s always interesting when authors use the talents that gamers have and then apply them to military things like Sutcliffe does in this book.
I’m a bit sad that the boys will never meet… I think that that would definitely add tension to the story, but I guess I’ll see how Sutcliffe tells the story. It could still be really effective without the two boys meeting.
I’m intrigued to see where this story takes me.
I’ll be back next week (or in 2 weeks…) to share my first impressions of the book that I am reading at the time!
Until next time…
