First Impression Friday | 19/10/18
If you’re not aware of what First Impression Friday is, it was created by Joe at JW Martin – Storeys of Stories where, every Friday, he talks about his first impressions of his current read. I actually think that I’m going to do this bi-weekly because, at the moment, I don’t think that I’m going to be reading books that quick due to university.
I also think that – where Joe has said that he will just come back to his FIF post and link his reviews – I’m going to come back to the post, and just write if I was wrong or right. So I have my predicted ratings, and then I’m going to write my actual rating and a couple of sentences on what I actually thought. But I will link my full review as well (once it’s written!)

Jayla Walters isn’t sure what to expect when her father’s job uproots her and her brother, Dion, to Estes Park, Colorado. But right away, something doesn’t seem right with their hotel. Jayla soon discovers that their home for the week, room 217 of the Stanley Hotel, is the most haunted place in all of Colorado. Barely asleep the first night, Jayla watches a ghostly woman walk toward her bed. And the ghost visits her room every night. What does the ghost want? And what happens when Jayla and Dion get in her way?
This is such a quick read… I’ve only just started and my Kindle app is saying I’ve got 40 minutes left of the book.
I’m at 20% and I’m finding pretty creepy. We’ve been introduced to our main characters and they’ve just spent their first night at the Stanley Hotel. I wish that I had a finished copy of this book though, because in the ARC, it says ‘illustrations to come’, and I think that it would have been so cool to read this book with the illustrations accompanying it.
So far so good… I’ve already been creeped out by a ghost, so I’m intrigued as to how creepy this story actually gets. I might just finish reading it tonight before I go to bed!
I’ll be back next week (or in 2 weeks…) to share my first impressions of the book that I am reading at the time!
Until next time…
