Fairy Loot June Unboxing | 2018
Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month the theme was ‘Rebels in Ballgowns’ and when the theme was announced last month, I had no idea what the book was going to be. That’s what I love about having the book subscription service – I just love being surprised!
Let’s get on with the unboxing…
Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork which is designed by Taratjah! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!
The first thing that I saw when I opened up this months Fairy Loot box was this gorgeous looking candle from Geeky Clean. It’s inspired by the Nevernight chronicles by Jay Kristoff (which I still haven’t read yet, don’t @ me) I can’t quite pinpoint what it smells like, but it’s a nice smell anyhow.
RRP: £8.00
The next thing that I spotted inside the box was this A-MAZ-ING pillow case designed by Miss Phi (whose designs I am absolutely IN LOVE with). The design is inspired by Stephanie Garber’s Caraval and the pillow case says: ‘your future can be whatever you wish. We all have the power to choose our own destiny.’ I do love a good pillow case but I have so many from Fairy Loot boxes now, that I have no idea on where to put them in my bedroom. There’s only so many pillows I can fit in one room. So maybe Fairy Loot can lay off the pillow cases for a bit? But this IS a fab design though!
I can’t remember the last time Fairy Loot included a piece of jewellery… I remember them included a bracelet with a hamsa hand about 7 months ago? And then they also included a rose necklace inspired by Caraval last year. So they don’t tend to include jewellery that often. But for this months box, they’ve included a masquerade inspired necklace that represents the theme for this month perfectly. It’s so beautiful, and I can’t wait to wear it! I do prefer choker necklaces to longer ones, but I’ll definitely be wearing this in the future. And another brilliant thing is that it’s bought to us exclusively by Fairy Loot!
I HAVE SO MANY BOOKMARKS!! And Fairy Loot just keep adding to my collection. These magnetic bookmarks are inspired by the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi (which I also haven’t read… WOW I’m awful.) Even though I haven’t read the series, I can still appreciate how brilliant these bookmarks have been designed by Taratjah.
I have no where to put this iron-on patches, so I just stick them onto the cork bunting that Fairy Loot included a few months ago. But this iron-patch is inspired by The Selection series by Kiera Cass. And guess what? I haven’t read that series either… The patch says ‘It’s always the fear of looking stupid that stops you from being awesome’, and it’s designed by Ink and Wonder who are the company that designs THOSE beautiful woodmarks.
RRP: $12.99
The only promotional item that was included in this months Fairy Loot box was this chapter sampler of Sea Witch by Sarah Henning which also folds out into a poster! I loved it when Fairy Loot did this previously for the Godsgrave chapter sampler, so I’m glad that they’ve done it again!

OH. MY. GOD. LOOK HOW AMAZING THIS ITEM IS!!! IT’S A BLOODY READING JOURNAL! AKA: A BULLET JOURNAL THAT CAN BE SOLELY USED FOR BOOKS!! Now, I have a bullet journal and I use it religiously and I do also use it for books. But I really want to use this one as well, so starting from July, I’ll also be using the Fairy Loot reading journal as well. I think it’s such a brilliant idea, however, I do think that they should have waited until January so that they could do a full year one… Or maybe they will? I don’t know. I think they should do a full year one, as I think that a lot of people would love that.
Two brilliant designers worked together to bring us this reading journal: Fiction Tea and Stella’s Bookish Art. Thank you Fairy Loot for this amazing item!

And here it is! The book of the month is Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart. Along with the book, there was a letter from the author. Grace and Fury naked is also pretty as well with a quote from the book on the naked cover. This is also a Fairy Loot exclusive because the UK edition is only out in Paperback, so it’s been printed in Hardcover especially for Fairy Loot readers. Another brilliant thing about this, is that Grace and Fury isn’t out until the end of July, so we also get it a month early!
In a world where women have no rights, sisters Serina and Nomi face two very different fates: one in the palace, the other on an island prison where women must fight to survive.
Serina has spent her whole life preparing to become a Grace – selected to stand by the heir to the throne as a shining example of the perfect woman.
But her headstrong and rebellious younger sister has a dangerous secret, and one wrong move could cost both sisters everything.
Can Serina fight? And will Nomi win?

Also included in the box were a signed bookplate, the author letter that also acts as character artwork of the two sisters out of Grace & Fury and also a postcard.
As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with the author and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / June 2018 / ‘Rebels in Ballgowns’ printed on the back!
Thank you to Fairy Loot for another month of bookish goodness. I can’t wait for next months box which is themed The Power Within! I know exactly what the book is for next month, and again, it was one that I had pre-ordered, so I had to cancel my pre-order! But the book sounds absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to own it and read it! There has also been a supplier reveal already, and it’s a magic ceramic mug… So that makes me think that it’s going to be a mug that changes somehow? Like this mugs that reveal the design once the hot water has been added? I don’t know. We’ll see next month! Don’t forget to check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures and details of their past book boxes and to also see their price plans for subscriptions.
