Fairy Loot Unboxing Jan 2017
Don’t you just love a good unboxing? This is the second time that I have received a box from Fairy Loot and I just can’t get over how amazing they are. You can tell that they put so much time and effort into making these gorgeous subscription boxes for their fans. So in true bibliophile fashion, I decided that I would start doing monthly unboxing posts for my Fairy Loot boxes!
January’s box was focused around the theme of Mystery & Mischief!
As soon as you open Fairy Loot’s boxes, you are welcomed by the card that tells you what is in the box. I don’t look at this though because I want everything to be a surprise, so I just put the card to one side!
The first item in my box that I noticed was a Game of Thrones mini vinyl figure. Excited to see which character I had got, I ripped the box open and saw that I got an adorable figure of Verys! I absolutely love his character in the books and the television show and now he’s standing next to Dobby on my bookshelves.
This is a gorgeous candle that is exclusive to Fairy Loot, created by the amazing Meraki Candles. Heather – of Meraki Candles creates the beautiful bookish candles in Scotland and sells her creations worldwide on her Etsy store. I’m seriously considering buying more of her candles since Come Back Yesterday smells diving!
RRP: £8.95
Gorgeous bookmarks yet again made an appearance in the January Fairy Loot box. Here, we have a bookmark advertising the new YA release of The Alchemist of Loom and beautifully designed Alice in Wonderland bookmark. One side of this bookmark says “imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality” and then the other side says “we’re all mad here”.
Another bonus item to come with this month’s box is a Passenger mini notebook. The front cover displays the Passenger cover with a title from the book, and the back cover shows the Wayfarer cover along with a quote from that boo. This notepad is so cute and small so I can take it anywhere with me and jot any notes down that I have about any blog posts!
Apart from the book, this rose necklace – made by Oh Panda Eyes – is my favourite item. I know that this box has nothing to do with Beauty and the Beast, but for me, this rose necklace symbolises that. I know that roses are also a theme in the featured book but… oh well! It’s absolutely gorgeous and I have a feeling that I’m going to be wearing it every day!
We don’t get one hardback book in this box – BUT TWO! Fairy Loot decided to include a hilarious hardback book that tells you how you can improve your deduction skills and become like Sherlock Holmes. I think this is such a brilliant item to include as Sherlock season four has just finished and people are still reeling from the episodes!
How can anyone not love this item?! It’s a pillowcase that is inspired by The Night Circus and has the quote “the finest pleasures are always the unexpected ones”. This is gorgeous and I absolutely love it. I just need to the buy the pillow for it now! Off to IKEA it is!
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS THE BOOK! YES THAT’S RIGHT GUYS! WE WERE GIVEN A COPY OF STEPHANIE GARBER’S DEBUT RELEASE: CARAVAL. This book is not out til 31st January so I’m super excited that we get to read it before it comes out! The book itself is absolutely gorgeous; it’s so much prettier in real life than in pictures and I’m also over the moon because I got the cover with the rose! There were four different covers available and I’m so glad that I got the rose because it matches the necklace. In the Fairy Loot bag, there was also a signed bookplate and letter from Stephanie Garber, there was a Caraval bookmark and mini Caraval art print that has “remember, it’s only a game” quoted on it.
Overall, this was an absolutely amazing book box and I genuinely cannot find one fault with it. I love every single item and I can’t wait for the February box which is themed ‘Emporers and Fugitives’. Check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures of their previous book boxes and to also find out the subscription information for upcoming months. Believe me, you do not want to miss out!
