Fairy Loot Unboxing | November 2020
Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! So, for this month the theme was ‘Enemies to Lovers’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew exactly what the book was. Due to everything that’s going on in the world right now, the Fairy Loot subscription boxes were delayed in shipping which is completely understandable.
I know that I’ve hardly been posting unboxing posts, but that’s because WordPress was playing up and uploading all of the pictures just wasn’t working. But I’ve finally figured it out!
Let’s get on with the unboxing…
Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork which is designed by Taratjah! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!
One of the first things that I saw in the box was this tote bag which was designed by @rosiethorns88 and was inspired by Cardan and Jude from the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black.
This bookish scarf was inspired by A Song of Wraith and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown and was designed by @jezhawk. It’s such a beautiful colour and the quote just fits perfectly!

I do love a good scrunchie. I’ve got about 4 jars full of them, and this one is a brilliant addition to my ‘collection’. The scrunchie features a quote from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and was designed by Fairy Loot.
I was very confused about this item. I had no idea what it was until I read the spoiler card and I found out that it was a bag hanger. I’m not quite sure how it works at the moment, but I’m going to try and figure it out! It was designed by Taratjah and is inspired by The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh.
The penultimate item that I saw was this screen cleaner that was designed by Taratjah and was inspired by Angelfall by Susan Ee, a series that I have wanted to read for so long, but have just never gotten around to it.
The final items were these gorgeous foiled bookmarks that are inspired by Serpent & Dove, A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Iron Fey series, and These Violent Delights. They were designed by @rukasu.art
As usual, Fairy Loot have included tarot cards that are inspired by a fandom. This months tarot cards were inspired by Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas and were designed by @arz28
ANNNNNNNNDDDDD… here is the book of the month: These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. I’ve been wanting this book for so long, and now I finally have it! The Fairy Loot edition has an exclusive cover, sprayed edges, artwork on the reverse of the dust jacket – which was designed by @monolimeart – it is digitally signed by the author and there is also a signed bookplate.
As usual, there was also a letter from the author included that featured amazing artwork by @lauregalart.
What I also loved about this was that there was an annotated chapter included whcih is something that I always love to see in bonus material.
The year is 1926, and Shanghai hums to the tune of debauchery.
A blood feud between two gangs runs the streets red, leaving the city helpless in the grip of chaos. At the heart of it all is eighteen-year-old Juliette Cai, a former flapper who has returned to assume her role as the proud heir of the Scarlet Gang—a network of criminals far above the law. Their only rivals in power are the White Flowers, who have fought the Scarlets for generations. And behind every move is their heir, Roma Montagov, Juliette’s first love…and first betrayal.
But when gangsters on both sides show signs of instability culminating in clawing their own throats out, the people start to whisper. Of a contagion, a madness. Of a monster in the shadows. As the deaths stack up, Juliette and Roma must set their guns—and grudges—aside and work together, for if they can’t stop this mayhem, then there will be no city left for either to rule.
As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with the author and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / November 2020 / ‘Enemies to Lovers’ printed on the back!
NEXT MONTH’S THEME IS ‘Thick as Thieves’. The book of the month includes sprayed edges, artwork on the reverse of the dust jacket, foiling on the hardcover, and will also have signed endpapers.
Don’t forget to check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures and details of their past book boxes and to also see their price plans for subscriptions. You can find all of my unboxings on my unboxings page…
