April 2018 Wrap Up
Hey, guys and welcome to my FIRST EVER MONTHLY WRAP UP POST! I always do them on my YouTube channel but I never considered doing it on my website because I didn’t really know what to include on here apart from what books I’ve read (obviously). But after some deliberation, I came up with a couple of ideas to give you guys some insight as to what’s going on in my life.
Anyway, let’s get on with the wrap up!
The Damned Vol. 2 by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt (Volume 1 review)
The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson (review)
The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson (review)
The Passion of New Eve by Angela Carter
Oleanna by David Mamet
Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp
Bad Girls With Perfect Faces by Lynn Weingarten
Piecing Me Together by Renée Watson
Graceling by Kristin Cashore: this is the first book in the Graceling trilogy and I’m really enjoying it so far! I’m on 64% and I’m listening to it on audiobook and also reading the physical copy as well. I love all of the characters and the plot is so intriguing. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the rest of the book.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw: I’m reading this for the monthly book club that I go to at my local Waterstones. I’m only on page 88 at the moment, but considering that I’ve only been reading it for about 45 minutes, that’s pretty good going. It’s a really fast-paced story, and quite easy to fly through (as you can see). Obviously, I haven’t read enough to have a solid opinion on it, but the characters seem to enjoyable and there’s loads of mystery around a couple of them!
Big Bones by Laura Dockrill: Ahhhhh! A book that speaks to my own heart! So this book is about a fat girl, navigating her way through life and being forced to keep a food diary by her doctor to make her see how much food she’s actually eating. But our main character doesn’t seem to care. She loves food too much to care. The main character is really enjoyable so far, and even though I’m only on 15%, I’m loving the message that this book is sending across.
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell: I’ve been reading this book for about 4 months now and I’m only on page 89… Do you think it’s time to give up now? Because my assessment is almost over and since I’m not writing about North and South, it seems pretty pointless to be reading it, right? The motivation just isn’t there…
Sword Art Online: Started watching this anime on Netflix! I’d heard so many amazing things about it, so I really wanted to give it a go. I’m really enjoying it so far!
Finished re-watching Blue Exorcist: Because, why not? I think I’ve seen this series about 5 times now? And I will never get bored of it because it’s just so damn awesome. 5/5
Avengers: Infinity War: I’m not really sure how I feel about this, to be honest. It was a good film, don’t get me wrong. But it felt a bit messy? I don’t know… I need Avengers 4… 3.5/5
Finished re-watching Full Metal Alchemist: Another re-watch for me! I’ve seen FMA about 3 times? Or 2? Something like that. Anyway, I love this series. It’s so dark and creepy… 5/5
Carrying on with Riverdale: This show is so bad, it’s good? I don’t even know. Like… the acting isn’t GREAT, but I’m hooked and I have no idea why…
Carrying on with Lucifer: Mate… Season 3 is so good. I feel like this show is so underrated. I’ve been watching this ever since it first came out and I absolutely love it! Every episode just keeps me hooked.
Carrying on with iZombie: I feel like this show has kind of gone down hill for me? The first two seasons were so good, the third was just good and then season 4 is just… ok? It doesn’t grip me as much as it used to.
Love, Simon: THIS.FILM.IS.BRILLIANT. Enough said. 5/5
The dreaded life update… I’m going to keep this short and sweet because I’ve been nervous about writing this.
So this month, I have had A LOT of bad mental health days. Like… A LOT. Hence why so much TV was watched. I couldn’t bring myself to do anything, or function like a human being. I mean, I probably should have because I’ve got loads of assessments due in for mid May and I haven’t even started them, but the depression and anxiety bug got me good this month.
But that’s enough of that! Because that brings me on to my next point: UNIVERSITY ASSESSMENTS. UGGGGGHHHHHH! They’re annoying me so much. Partly because I haven’t started them, partly because I have no idea what I’m going to write… My life is such a mess right now.
Anyway, that’s it for my April Wrap Up! I hope you guys enjoyed it and I’ll see you next month in my next wrap up!
